Coiled Tubing Products and Technologies
Coiled Tubing, also known as flexible pipe or spoolable pipe, features high strength, good plasticity, and certain corrosion resistance. Unlike conventional tubing, coiled tubing has no threaded connections. A single continuous length can extend for several thousand meters and is typically wound around a reel for delivery and operation.
| title | feature | Main Application Scenarios |
| Low-Carbon Micro-alloyed Coiled Tubing | A high-strength steel pipe with good plasticity, featuring excellent low-cycle fatigue resistance and a single length of up to 8,000 meters. | It is used for well intervention and stimulation. This represents the most common and widely used type of coiled tubing product. |
| Corrosion-Resistant Alloy (CRA) Coiled Tubing | A continuous welded steel pipe characterized by high strength, superior corrosion resistance, high-temperature and high-pressure tolerance, and good plasticity. It significantly reduces corrosion rates compared to micro-alloyed coiled tubing. | Operations in (ultra-)deep wells, and high-temperature, high-pressure, high-corrosion gas wells. Strategic energy projects including shale gas extraction, underground coal gasification, natural gas hydrate extraction, and heavy oil thermal recovery. Corrosion-resistant well completion strings, oilfield gathering pipelines, and offshore oil and gas production. |
| Non-Metallic Composite Coiled Tubing | This type of tubing offers excellent flexibility, corrosion resistance, high-pressure and impact tolerance, abrasion resistance, light weight, ease of connection, and spoolability. It enables rapid, long-distance deployment with minimal joints. Its maximum pressure capacity reaches 32 MPa, with fewer connections required and single lengths extending up to several kilometers. | It is primarily applied in fields such as oil and gas gathering & transportation, high-pressure methanol injection, oilfield water injection; water supply for shale gas operations, wastewater treatment, and flowback recovery; as well as coalbed methane transportation and the conveyance of corrosive chemical media. |
